Before the audience, there was a prayer.
I asked God to help me stop being ashamed to publicly speak about Jesus.
I'm Malik—the person behind JustMalikOfficial. This didn't start with a plan to become a creator. It began with a prayer, a moment of boldness, and a decision to stop hiding my faith.
My name is Malik. I share faith-filled conversations that come out of a real life, not a perfect one. I know what fear, doubt, distraction, and hesitation feel like. I also know what it means to take one step of obedience before you can see where it leads.
I asked God to help me stop being ashamed to publicly speak about Jesus.
After leaving the gym in Grand Prairie, I felt the boldness I'd prayed for and started recording.
If one person feels less alone or takes a step toward Christ, sharing my story is worth it.
For a long time I could talk about God alone, but lowered my voice around other people. Here's what happened—and why I stopped hiding.
My story didn't start with a camera. It started with a life I knew needed to change.
During my freshman year, after moving from Monroe, Louisiana, to Grand Prairie, Texas, I was caught up in a way of living that I eventually realized was pulling me away from God. I'd been baptized before the move, but I still had so much to learn about surrendering my life to Christ.
When I first turned toward God, I was afraid of going to hell. I honestly believed that following Jesus meant losing everything I thought made life enjoyable. I saw surrender as a restriction—as if the things I was holding onto were helping me.
As I began reading the Bible and building a real relationship with Him, my understanding changed. I came to follow Jesus not merely because I feared hell, but because of His sacrifice and the life He offered me. I started seeing that some of the things I thought I couldn't let go of were the very things holding me back.
Even as my faith grew, there was something I struggled to do: speak openly about Jesus.
One-on-one, I could talk about God. In private, I could pray. But around other people? I would whisper. I would say His name quietly, worried about how people would look at me.
Matthew 10:32–33 and Mark 8:38 stayed on my mind. They challenged me to ask a hard question: How could I say I loved Jesus while being afraid to publicly acknowledge Him?
There were other struggles too—anger, stress, anxiety, uncertainty, temptation, and the habit of putting things off. I wasn't perfect then. I'm not perfect now. But I didn't want to keep letting fear make my decisions for me.
Eventually, I prayed about it directly: “Jesus, I don't want to be ashamed of You anymore.”
One day, after leaving the gym near EpicCentral in Grand Prairie, I was walking outside with my backpack when an overwhelming feeling came over me. I remember recognizing it as a boldness I hadn't had before.
I believe God answered the prayer I'd been praying. For the first time, I didn't feel ashamed to speak about Him.
I pulled out my phone and started recording. I spoke about Jesus with passion and conviction. I recorded long videos—some over ten minutes—along with shorter messages. None of it started as a carefully planned content session. I simply wanted to speak.
That moment was the turning point. Before it, I was struggling to say His name out loud. After it, I was willing to share the message in front of a camera—and eventually with everyone who might see it.
Watch a video I recorded after leaving the gym ↗When I got home, I started posting some of those videos. I'd shared faith content before, but never with that kind of consistency or boldness.
Then Instagram came to mind. My Instagram page wasn't known for Christian messages, and I knew people from my past would see me speaking differently. I started arguing with myself about what they might say.
But I remembered what I'd prayed for, and I made a decision: I wasn't going to hide my faith to protect other people's opinions of me.
So I posted the video on Instagram. That platform became the place where JustMalikOfficial's faith content first started reaching a bigger audience.
Not long afterward, I recorded a video at night near a school parking lot in Grand Prairie. I spoke boldly about God's Word and how seriously we should take it.
That video went on to reach over two million views. I never imagined that speaking up in faith would connect with people I had never met. The number isn't the purpose of the story. What mattered was who heard it—and what they took from it.
People began approaching me at school. Some recognized me as JustMalikOfficial. Others told me one of my videos had helped them through something they were facing. I started meeting people and hearing stories I never would have known otherwise.
When someone called me famous or praised me, I wanted to point the attention back to Jesus. I know where I came from, and I know I still have things to learn. I'm just the vessel. I'm just the messenger.
2M+Watch the early messageA milestone from my testimony, as shared when this page was writtenJustMalikOfficial is more than a username now. It's where I share honest conversations about faith, discipline, temptation, purpose, and growing through the moments life brings.
Procrastination used to have a strong hold on me. I've grown, but I'm still learning to become more consistent. My relationship with God is still growing too. I don't want anyone looking at my videos and thinking I have everything figured out.
Three Scriptures have stayed especially close to me: Matthew 6:33, Proverbs 3:5–6, and Jeremiah 29:11. They remind me to seek God first, trust Him beyond what I can understand, and place my future in His hands.
Why share the parts of my story I'm not proud of? Because somebody else may be fighting the same battle in silence. I want them to know they're not alone.
I'm not writing this as someone who never struggles. I'm writing it as someone who has seen what a step of faith can change—and who knows there are more steps ahead.
A message is never just a view. Sometimes it's a person who needed encouragement, a conversation that starts, or a reminder that somebody isn't walking alone.
THE IMPACT IS HUMAN. NOT A SCOREBOARD.Thank You For This Video, I Really Needed It, Amen 🙏
Just wanted to stop by and say you are an inspiration to all bro keep doing these videos!
Great Message Brother, May You Stay Blessed And Keep Spreading The Gospel!
Other viewers have privately shared how the videos encouraged them, helped them reflect, and reached friends far beyond where I live. I don't take that trust lightly.
Status doesn't define who you really are. A following can't replace character. If I speak truth in public, I have to keep working to live by it in private, too.
I'm not above the message. It challenges me just like it challenges anyone listening.
The questions I ask myself ↗Faith has changed the way I look at effort. I want to keep choosing obedience, consistency, and courage—even when the next chapter isn't clear. These are challenges I bring to myself, not standards I use to judge someone else's journey.
“If you know you're able to give 100%, why choose to stop at 99%?”
Giving your best includes wisdom, grace, rest, and recognizing that our capacity can change.
“God is not limited. So why do you limit yourself?”
A reminder to challenge fear, not a promise that every goal will turn out exactly how we imagine.
“You don't have to know every chapter that's coming to appreciate the one you're living right now.”
A reminder from the process of building this site and reflecting on the journey.
My walk with God didn't begin with having all the answers. Scripture kept challenging the way I lived, thought, and trusted. These passages remain anchors in that journey.
Keeping God's kingdom before everything else.
Trusting beyond my own understanding.
Remembering God's promise spoken to His people, and learning to trust His care.
Renewing my mind instead of following every pattern around me.
Choosing closeness to God, again and again.
My faith is the center of the story. But I'm also a person who loves learning, music, movement, creativity, and meaningful conversations.
I'm a drummer. Music is another way I get to serve, practice, and grow.
I enjoy basketball and training. Progress comes through practice, not only inspiration.
The message matters more than the edit—but I still care about how every video connects.
Some of the messages I share start as conversations with other believers, not scripts.
My faith and creator work come first. I’m exploring ways to create beyond social media, but the ideas below are still in development—not products for sale.
JustMalikOfficial as a creative identity that may eventually include thoughtfully designed apparel, caps, and other projects.
A Christian clothing concept combining minimalist premium pieces with bold streetwear. Name clearance, design testing, and quality come first.

I'm grateful for the chapters that shaped me, and I know I'm still growing. I don't have to see the whole road to take the next step with God. This story isn't finished—and I pray it reminds you that yours isn't either.
